Version 1.0 · 24 October 2026. This notice covers the website and initial enquiries. Additional service privacy information may be provided before collecting care or health details.

Who we are

Julie Haywood Community Ventures Ltd is the controller responsible for the personal information described in this notice. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 09775377. Our registered office is The Cottage, Soutergate, Kirkby in Furness, Cumbria, LA17 7TN. For privacy questions or requests, contact Julie Haywood at julie@juliehaywood.co.uk or 07710 655188.

This notice covers juliehaywood.co.uk and its staging subdomain while that test website remains accessible. The staging website is used to prepare and review changes before they are introduced on the main website. Please do not submit sensitive information to either website.

Information we collect

When you contact us, we may receive your name, email address, telephone number if you provide it, your message, the service you are interested in, your preferred way to connect for a free 30-minute consultation, and any further information you choose to give us by email or phone. The contact form currently asks for your name, email address and message, with an optional service selection. It uses a simple arithmetic anti-spam question.

The website’s hosting and security systems may process technical information, such as your IP address, browser details, requested pages and the time of your visit, to deliver and protect the website. Cookies and similar technologies may store or access information on your device. The Cookie Policy identifies the relevant technologies, purposes and any available choices.

Enable & Connect is for adults aged 18 and over in South Lakes. Please do not put confidential, medical or safeguarding information in the website form. If further information is needed to discuss or provide a service, we will explain the appropriate way to supply it and how it will be used before asking for it.

Why we use information

We use personal information for the purposes below. The basis depends on the particular purpose; sending an enquiry is not blanket consent for all uses of your information.

General enquiries and business contacts: we use your contact details and message to respond, understand which service is relevant and manage our professional relationship. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us and running our business, balanced against their rights.

Steps you request before a personal service contract: where you ask us to take steps towards entering a contract with you, including discussing a suitable service, we use the information needed for those steps. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. If you become a client, we will provide any further privacy information needed for the particular service.

Website and communication security: we use relevant technical records to prevent abuse, investigate faults and protect information. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating secure and reliable systems.

Legal duties: where the law requires us to retain or disclose particular business records, such as accounting or tax records arising from a service, we use the relevant information to meet that legal obligation. This does not mean that every initial enquiry is an accounting record.

Optional website measurement: we will ask for consent before using optional analytics or similar technology that requires it. Any measurement tools, their purposes and the available choices must be explained in the Cookie Policy before they are used.

We do not treat an enquiry or a service contract as consent to marketing. Any choice to receive marketing is separate and optional. If you opt in, you can withdraw that choice at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe option in the message. Choosing not to receive marketing does not prevent you from asking about or receiving a service.

You are not legally required to make an enquiry or provide information. The form requires a name, email address and message so that we can respond; the service selection is optional. Without sufficient contact information, we may be unable to reply or arrange a consultation. You can also contact us by email or telephone.

Who receives information

Access is limited to the people who need the information to respond to you or support the relevant activity. This may include Julie, authorised colleagues or associates, and the suppliers supporting our website, email, security, IT maintenance and backups. We use Microsoft 365 for the business email domain. Suppliers handling information on our behalf must do so under appropriate data-protection arrangements.

We may also share relevant information with professional advisers or public authorities when required by law, or where necessary and lawful to protect rights and safety. Our Information Governance, Data and Privacy Policy explains our wider approach to sharing and security.

The website currently requests font resources from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google to retrieve those resources and sends technical information needed for that request. This is separate from Google Analytics.

International processing

Some suppliers may process information outside the UK, including through international support or technical infrastructure. Where this involves a restricted transfer of personal information, an applicable UK adequacy arrangement or other lawful safeguard is required. Contact us for details of the arrangements relevant to your information and how to obtain a copy of any applicable safeguards.

How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the relevant purpose. For routine enquiries, we consider whether the conversation is still active, whether you have become a client, whether a complaint or dispute needs to be addressed, and whether a legal duty requires retention. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.

Our Information Governance, Data and Privacy Policy sets an overall maximum of seven years for personal data unless a longer period is required by law. This is not a rule to keep every enquiry for seven years. Security logs, email records and backup copies require their own appropriate retention and deletion arrangements.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis, you may ask to access your information, correct inaccurate or incomplete information, erase it, restrict its use, or receive and transfer certain information. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions in data-protection law.

Your right to object: you can object to processing based on our legitimate interests. You also have an absolute right to object to use of your personal information for direct marketing.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. To exercise a right, email julie@juliehaywood.co.uk, telephone us or write to our registered office. We may ask for proportionate information to confirm your identity. We will respond within the applicable legal time limit, normally one month; where a lawful extension applies, we will explain it.

Questions and complaints

If you are concerned about how we use your information, contact Julie Haywood at julie@juliehaywood.co.uk. Julie is the primary complaints contact under our Concerns and Complaints Policy. We aim to acknowledge complaints within three business days and explain the proposed next steps. The policy is available on our website.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data-protection regulator, at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/. You do not lose that right by contacting us first.

Changes to this notice

We will review this notice when our website, services or use of information changes. The version and publication date will be shown on the website, and we will draw material changes to your attention where appropriate.
